For a timo it was thought tho entire town was doomed, as tho high wind made it difficult for tho firemen to check tho flames, but by heroic work of tho department and citizens, including includ-ing women, thc city was saved. Early this morning Caldwell experienced experi-enced another fire. This timo tho Ger-mania Ger-mania restaurant nnd a Chinese laundry K-cro destroyed, and for a time th oUv was threatened. Tt; was only by prompt and vigorous work on the part of tho firo department that tho Pioneer irrigation irri-gation district office, the Caldwell News office and thc Lavcring building wero not destroyed.
