Show PAUL'S RESURRECTION. Tho Logan Journal has dug into the tomb and has. resurrected one Professor Profes-sor Joshua Paul, whoso ardent defense of plural marriage whilo he was prcsN dent of tho Mormon university at Salt Lako City, something liko a year ago, will bo remembered by attentive news-paoer news-paoer readers. Mr. Paul had passed from tho memory of most living men, tho church having shunted him along with certain other objcctionablo individualities individuali-ties out of public sight. But he has succeeded suc-ceeded in offending the Logan sentiment senti-ment about tho Agricultural College, and tho Journal of that town proceeds to expose him by exposing his hypocrisy hy-pocrisy and unfairness. It tolls that Professor Paul, after tumbling from the grace of the ehurch as an educator, applied for a position at the Agricultural Collego, aud this being refused he was inducted into tho University of Utah. Just why the Agricultural Collego declined him if ho wns friendly to polygamy, and just why tho Unh'orsily of Utah employed him, the Journal does not state- But that, paper insists that now Professor Paul is exhibiting n hostile and prejudiced preju-diced feeling toward the Agricultural Collego and is doing what ho can lo injure tho college cause. It concludes its scathing editorial with this remark: "Tho peoplo of the State who may hear his hypocritical fulminations against the Agricultural College will do well to rcmombcr that they aro not fathered by a wish to help tho educational edu-cational interests of the State, but proceed pro-ceed rather from a desiro to obtain cheap rovf.ngc for his wounded pride." Moro and moro it is evident that some peacemaker is needed between tho brethren. If thoy continue to oxposo each other's hypocrisy tho wholo world will soon know them as they are. |
