Yankton, s. d., .iuiy 22. it is not exactly a novel experience for a man to have a single bee of tho political variety at least, buzzing about in his bonnet, but to bo avraKened from a sound sleep to find a whole swarm of tho apis incllifica in bed with ono is sufficiently unusual almost to deserve the term unique. This, however, was the experience of Ralph Williams, who was aroused from a sound slumber by the buzzing of what he at. lirst took to bo houseflies. He wondered how enough houseflies could get into the room to mako noise enough to arouso him, for ho is a heavy sleeper, and rubbing his eyes ho inspected tho room. He found tho room literally black with bees. Tho bod was lined with them, his clothing was a blnck mass of wriggling insects and tho walls and ceiling were alive with the crawling, buzzing iittle busybodies, apparently each j'nu-nt on "improving oaeh shining shin-ing hour. The boos had escaped from a nearby apiary and had swarmed down tlfe chimney into the room where Williams was sleeping. Williams managed to keep ahead of the bees as he lured them out of tho kitchen, and ho was stung only once, whilo going- from the bedroom bed-room to the kitchen, |
