Show CUI HER THROAT WITH MZlie Mrs. M. A. Bishop Severs Windpipe Wind-pipe and Dies From Strangulation. ACT COMMITTED WHILE MENTALLY UNBALANCED Tragedy Occurs at the Home of Her Daughter, Mrs. C. H. Tingey. While in a etato of mental derangement, derange-ment, caused by a long siego of lllncds, Mrs. M. A. Bishop, mother-in-law of Deputy State Auditor C. H. Tingey, slashed her throat with a razor, severing the windpipe and died from strangulation' strangula-tion' within r. short while. , Was Mentally Unbalanced. Mrs. Bishop, who made her homo with the family of Mr. Tingey. at K2 East Park avenue, has been conilncd to her bed for some time, and It was known that sho was mentally unbalanced, but it had not been feared that she had any intention inten-tion of doing herself any harm Deft Alone for Two Minutes. Mrs. Tingey. who had been caring for her mother during her Illness, left tho liouse for a couple of minutes yesterday morning to step into the back yard. She was out of the house but Just long enough to get a scuttle of coal from tho coal-house, and when she returned fround that Mrs. Blnho;i had left her bed. Found in the Cellar. The door of the stairway leading to the cellar was open and Mra. Tlngoy called to her mother, but received no response She then proceeded to the cellar and found her mother lying on the lloor In a pool of blood. Medical Aid Summoned. She Immediately summoned Dr. W. M. Thome, whoao residence is Just across the street from tho TlnKoy home. Mrs. Bishop was carried upstairs and placed in bed but nothlnB could bo done to savt her life, and she died about an hour later from strangulation. No Inquest by Coroner. Coroner Dana T Smith and Police Captain Cap-tain Burbldgo were notified and went to the scene at oneo. An investigation was made Into the circumstances connected with the sad affair and Coroner Smith decided that an Inquest was unnecessary. Tho remains were takon to the undertaking under-taking parlors of S D. Evans. Was Natve of England. Mrs Bishop was 05 yearv of age and a native of England. Mrs. TlnKoy. her daughter. Is the only relative she had living In this country. |
