Show PRESIDENT IN WASHINGTON. Mr. and Mrs. Roosevelt and Miss Roosevelt R-eturn to White House. WASHINGTON. Nov. 29. President Roosevelt arrived here at 7:02 a. m. from his visit to the St. Louis exposition. exposi-tion. The special train was awaited by a throng of seyeral hundred at the station, sta-tion, and as It drew Into the depot the crowd broke Into cheers. It was thirty-five minutes later when the President, accompanied by Mrs. Roosevelt and Mlsa Alice Roosevelt alighted from their car. They were conducted con-ducted immediately to their carriage and driven rapidly to the White House. The trip of the President, in some i circumstances was one of the most no,- D table he ever took. The arrangements for the comfort, convenience and personal per-sonal safety of the President and Mrs. Roosevelt were the most thorough ever made. They were planned, with the .approval .ap-proval of Mr. Roosevelt, by Secretary Loeb and John V. Wilkie, chief of the secret service. They were accepted by President D R. Francis of the Exposition company and by the St. Louis ofilcjalsi and were carried Into effect absolutely to the letter. let-ter. The railroad arrangements for tho trip were admirable. No delay was experienced ex-perienced either In going to St. Louis or In returning to Washington. At no time did the train ary more than a small fraction of a minute from the schedule. The ofllelals of the Pennsylvania Pennsyl-vania railroad and of the Pullman company com-pany did everything in their power to render the President's Journey safe and comfortable |
