Show FELL OVER A CLIFF. Tragic' Fate of Prospector Whoso Bones Have Been Found. Special to Tho Tribune. OPHIR, Utah, Nov. 29. Tho peoplo hens aro excited over tho grucsomo find by Surveyor Burton, from Salt Lako, of a human skeleton. Tho discovery was made under a cliff within the Immediate vicinity vicin-ity of Ophlr. At first much speculation was rlfo na lo whether or not tho skeleton skele-ton Jb that of an Indian Dr Logan, recently re-cently of Kentucky and tho doctor of Ophlr. was asked to mako an examination of tho find. Ho declared that tho nkclcton Is that of a medium-sized white man, who possessed moro than tho averago intelligence. intelli-gence. Tho skull Is not very large, but la well developed. A butcher's knife, a few beads and somo elk teeth wero also found with tho remains. Joseph Bltholl, Jack Osborne and Mr. Waters mado a very close scorch, but could not furnish more than tho abovo Information. In-formation. The opinion Is that it in not a caso of Buicldo, but that tho skoloton is that of a prospector who was wandering wander-ing around ln tho dark and foil ovor tho cliff. Many of the bones aro missing, and It Is thouKht that tho remains are those of a mining man who came down from tho South pass In Wyoming ln tho eurly 70s. |
