Show The nppeal of the Armenian blshopa at Iepahan, Persia, to the United Slates, to Intervene and stop tho slaugher of Innocent lives, 1b pathetic; but it Is entirely en-tirely out of the question. The United States could not possibly Intervene In the sense meant by those bishops, save at the cost of a wasting war, and possibly possi-bly Htlrrlng up the whole of Europe. But, whatever can be done by this country In the way of representations or concert of action with other powers to put an effectual stop to the massacres, massa-cres, can of course be depended upon. |
