NIKE LITTLE VESSELS START ON OCEAN RACE NEW YORK, July 2. Nine little sloops and yawls started at 11 o'clock today from Gravo33nd on a 330-mile ocean raco to Marblehead, Mass., for a 100 guinea cup offered by Sir Thomas LIpton. Tho race Is under tho auspices of the Brooklyn Brook-lyn Yacht club. Under ordinary condition's, condi-tion's, three to four dayB will bo required to cover tho course, which carries tho racers outsldo of Long Island and around Nantucket lightship, In the path of the ocean liners for 200 miles, and after rounding round-ing the lightship closo to tho dangerous fishing rip shoal near tho outh channel. It Is a venturesome trip for such -small craft, all except ono of them being lees than forty feet In length. The weather was cloar at the start, with a good breeze blowing.
