ELABORATE PLANS FOR MEMORIAL DAY ELABORATE preparations are already al-ready being made -by tho Grand Army of the Republic for the ap-proprlate ap-proprlate observance of Memorial day ln Salt Lake, and indications point to a complete celebration In keeping with the hallowed significance of the occasion. oc-casion. Governor Wells has Issued an order for the Utah National Guard to participate in the ' ceremonies. Col. Lockwood of the Twenty-ninth United States infantry will be at Fort Douglas before Memorial day, with live companies com-panies of his regiment, and he. with his entire command, as well as Maj. Calif, with his entire command of artillery, will be in line with the old soldiers. Tho schools of the city will devote the afternoon after-noon of May 20th to memorial services and will he addressed by members of the G. A. R., by soldiers of the Spanish-American Spanish-American war and by members of the Ladles of the G. A. R. and W. R. C. The various resorts will, as usual, have their grand openings on Memorial day.
