Show RAILROAD CONSTRUCTION LIVELY AROUND CALIENTES Special to Tho Tribune. CALIENTES, Nov., May 11. It Is now expected that the rock cut on the east aide of the Muddy river will be completed within the next three weeks, ready for tracklaylng. Grading is progressing rapidly In different sections southwest of the . y' and U- c- headquarters are established es-tablished two miles south of the river. The rock cut south of tho" river Is near-ng near-ng completion, and tracklaylng Is being be-ing pushed toward Los Vegas ranch. General Foreman McDcrmott went to the front to overlook the advance work along the line. 6 C A sister to Mrs. Hans Olson, who has been visiting here for several days, has returned to her home In Pioche. A sack of fine copper samples was brought into camp from the Mormon mountain district, south of Moapa, running run-ning well In gold. n Work Is progressing rapidly on the Fetterman tunnel, close to camp. The tunnel is now In 170 feet, and will soon tap a six-foot ledge of free gold running run-ning $3S on the surface. The tunnel of the Venus Is in eight feet on a four-foot ledge of free gold ore, and will continue for another forty feet, drifting on the ledge to a depth of eighty feet from the surface, where it is expected to tap a contact lead which shows up twenty feet on the surface. The recent race trouble here between tho Italians and Austrlans Is all over and the malcontents have left camp. Their places are being filled with recent re-cent Importations, i The Western Union Telegraph company com-pany gang has arrived and is putting ln poles and stringing wire down the line southward toward the Muddy river. Rapid progress Is being made and It is believed the line of telegraphic communication com-munication between Calientes and Moapa will be completed within the next two or three weeks. The claims cast of Klernan's ranch are being prospected and sampled by Salt Lake experts, with a view to pur-chasslng pur-chasslng at least four of these rich silver sil-ver properties. Fine samples of high-grade lead ore have been brought Into camp from claims recently located a few miles north of camp, and the mining outlook was never so brlcht as at present ln this camp. |
