SOUTHERN PACIFIC WORK IN NEVADA Work on the automatic biock system along the Southern Paclllc la progressing progress-ing between Sparks and Truckee In Nevada. The battery houses and semaphore stuffs and the battery cells have been distributed along the line nnd the cement gang has put In the foundations foun-dations for the semaphores. The staffs aro of iron, and at each signal station the electric current carried by the rails is interrupted and conveyed through the semaphore mechanism. Heavy batteries will be used and enclosed In substantial buildings along the tracks, twenty-two of which have been distributed from Sacramento. They arc supposed to be "hobo proof."
