Montana Pioneer Joins Majority Capt. Sheldon Porter, Original Grand Army IVIan of Northwest, Passes Awoy. 6RBAT FALLS, Mont. May 11. Capt. Sheldon T. Porter, one of the pioneers of this State and reputed to be the original G. A. P.. man of tho Northwest, died at his ranch near Horr, agc-d 77 years. Thc deceased came to the State about twenty-five years ago. During the Civil war he eerved as first lieutenant in the Flret battery of the First Connecticut Light Artillery. In 1SCC. when the G. .A. P- was organized at Decatur, III., he was one of the charter members.
