Show WHAT UTAH ELKS WILL DO AT PR0V0 The first annual convention of the Utah lodges of Elks will be held in Provo June 15 to 18 inclusive. To make tho occasion tho greatest success of its kind in the fraternal history of tho State, tho Commercial club of that city has agreed to co-operate with tho Elks. The citizens of the place havo entered Into the spirit of the matter, and, besides subscribing large sums of money to be expended in entertaining entertain-ing tho visitors, have volunteered their services In arranging a scparato programme pro-gramme for each day. The last two days special attention will bo paid to the Utah county people. Each day Is to have a distinctive feature, fea-ture, besides some special attraction for the evening. On one day a handsomo bedroom set is to be given to the couple who will be married In public. The Provo Elks will pay lor the license. Ogden and Provo have entered a contest con-test for the carnival queen. Both lodges are balloting on the most popular popu-lar and beautiful woman In their respective re-spective cities. The one receiving tho highest number of votes Is to bo crowned queen of the carnival. She will have malds-of-honor from the live lodges In the State. There will be two street parades. One will be for the Elks and tho other for all fraternal orders In the State. Suitable Suit-able prizes will be given for the best-appearing best-appearing lodges In the two processions. Two blocks In Provo are to be inclosed nnd converted into a midway. Therein will be arranged all manner o attractions at-tractions usually seen in such a place. Excursions into the canyons, on the lake, fishing parties .and llsh dinners have also been arranged for, besides vaudeville entertainments, dances and other forms of amusements. The railroads rail-roads have agreed to make special rates for the reunion, which will be taken advantage of by Elks from all over the State, even up Into Wyoming and over into Colorado, and north into Idaho. |
