Show GRAIN AND PROVISIONS Advancs I December Wheat Provisions Pro-visions Rued Higher Chicago Dec 7 Whaat started off in a whirl of excitement Opening sales of both December and May were at prac cally last nights closing fiures 90 cents for the one b9 cents for the other I soon developed that there was some December De-cember wanted undoubtedly to fill shorts with none offering On this account the price advanced at once December getting to 99 cents May to XHi in the first 15 minutes of the session The alleged bull clique stopped the advance by selling only a small lot less than 50000 bushels the big premium over May about 9 cents per bushel being against its policy because if allowed to stand it would turn wheat marketings all this way So the price ell back to aiy for the one S94 cents for the other Before the regular session commenced the following was nominally weak caused by a decline of 7d at Liver 1001 Northwestern receipts Were also considerably larger than last year The trade had in mind two stirring tacts how ever one with alleged bull clique had been a big buyer of calls Monday after noon and the morning newspapers told of freight room being engaged at Boston for l5lX000 bushels of wheat for January and February shipment This was construed strued to mean that when the line of December wheat was delivered to the bull clique here it would ship it abroad by all all to the seaboard it the water route was closed I was semiofficially given out that the short line for December in the mark was over 11000000 bushels with less than 000000 bushels of contract in store hereto here-to a Up to within 15 minutes of the close the market held very firm with narrow trading trad-ing Efforts ware then made to break the price below calls and May was sent down to S9 closing at 89SU bid December Decem-ber closed at tRi1 Corn was dull but firm all day mainly in sympathy with wheat The close was easier following the little break in wheat near the end Oats were firm and higher The market however was extremely dull and without interesting features Provisions though very dull ruled firm and a little higher until near the close January pork closed 2 lower and January Jan-uary lard and January ribs were a shade lower at the close cose The leading futures ranged as follows WEATNo 2 I Open I High I Low I Close Dec 96 99 911 I9SII Jan 89 90 4 89 1 SS7I May 89 90l S9
