Show I WENT WITHOUT WABNING Seen in Denver and Then Lost Sight Of Entirely Alice Rogers a pretty girl of about 1C years of age came to Salt Lake a few months ago with her mother They came from California where Mr Rogers Rog-ers the girls father is living Mrs Rogers was in the city only for a short visit and had been here but a few I < lays when her daughter came in and I told her she was going out for a while anti would be back for supper Suppertime Supper-time arrived and the girl did not show up and Mrs Rogers became greatly worried about her Finally about 11 oclock that night she reported to the police that she feared that Alice had left the country Alice had threatened to go to Butte and it was thought that she had carried car-ried out her threat The mother was nearly distracted and especially so when she discovered that Alice had taken about 70 which had been sent to her by her husband Besides she took with her a small grip and some clothes Though the police did all in their power they could not find any trace of the girl until finally word was received that she was seen in Denver in company with a young man Communications Com-munications werre sent to the police at that place with instructions to arrest and hold her for her mother Alice probably heard of the efforts that were being made for her capture I and went on to Kansas City It was not known why the girl left but it was thought that she had been corresponding correspond-ing with some man and had met him I and gone on east In fact a report was received by the police here that on the night the girl left homeshe was noticed in Ogden where she met a young man who came in on the train from the west that evening It was thought that it was a prearranged elopement but the dispatch from Denver Den-ver does not tell of any man in the case |
