Show SESSION CONCLUDED GRAND LODGE K OF P ADJOURNED JOURNED YESTERDAY Good Feeling and Harmony Prevailed Pre-vailed and the Meeting Was in Every Way a Success Subordinate Subordi-nate Lodge Deputies Past Grand Chancellor Wedell Presented With a Past Grand Jewel Park City June 17The 13th session of the grand lodge of the domain of Utah closed its labors at a few minutes min-utes before 12 oclock noon today As at the dispersion of all such fraternal gatherings this one was not without its solemn side Many of the older delegate and officers felt that they were parting perhaps never to meet I again this side of eternity I was 11 oclock when Justus Witherell the installing In-stalling officer took the station as ligned to him and conducted the cbs figned cos ing exercises In assuming the gavel and the responsibilities re-sponsibilities of grand chancellor N W Sonnedecker made a brief but eloquent elo-quent address at the close of which a pleasing incident took place by H C Wardleigh grand keeper of records and seals in a very neat speech presenting I W B Wedell the retiring grand chancellor chan-cellor with a past grand chancellors I I jewel as a slight token of the confidence confi-dence esteem and appreciation In i which he is held by the grand lodge In receiving the Jewel Mr Wedell made a brief talk In which he thanked the grand lodge members for their fraternal ternal feeling towards him He hoped he would always so measure his conduct con-duct as a Pythian as to be worthy of such esteem and confidence SUBORDINATE DEPUTIES The grand chancellor appointed the following subordinate lodge deputies Myrtle No 1 W H Young Ogden No 2 J O White Rocky Mountain No 3 William Kirkham Park No4 J T Williams Calanthe No5 F C Gun I nell Mingo No 6 J W Gushing Queen City No7 D M Morrison I Godiva No S Robert Nesbit Rathbone j No9 S A Harrison Queen City C H Ward Monitor No 11 John Rvar Zion No 12 W E Evans Eagle No 13 J A Harrison Bonneville No 14 Israel Is-rael Evans Onward No 15 D W Holdaway Resolute No 16 W J Kay lorSoon Soon after final adjurnment at the request of several delegates the new grand officers were photographed in a I group by Hower the photographer Another An-other group consisting of the follow ing past grand chancellors was taken also Justus Witherell E A McDaniel William Husbands John S Corlew John P Meakln W B Wedell Carriages were taken and those who wio desired drove to the Ontario Daly and Silver King r mines Nearly all the grand officers and delegates left at 4 pm on the Utah Central for their respective re-spective homes Supreme Chancellor Philip T Colgrove and wife left this morning on the Union Pacific for their Michigan home They were the guests during their stay at Park City of Mr and Mrs W Mont Ferry |
