Show THOSE MINING RECORDS J T Monk Fined 550 and Costs for Failing to Produce Them James T Monk the mining recorder of Big Cottonwood mining district who was arrested a few days ago on the charge of neglecting and refusing to turn over the mining ecords of the district dis-trict to the county recorder as required re-quired by law had a hearing yesterday before Justice McMaster It appeared from the testimony that Monk had purposely allowed the records rec-ords to be carried oft in fact when Monk was removing from one office room to another it appeared that he had Boxed up the records and left them in the office with the injunction to some of the boys to see that they disappeared disap-peared and they did disappear Monk was fined 50 and 1760 and as the Intention Is to make this a test case a notice of appeal was given Assistant As-sistant County Attorney Ray Van Cott prosecuted and Judge Henderson is counsel for Monk J It is possible that proceedings in the nature of mandamus will be instituted to compel Monk to produce the records Vags Sent to Jail James Nolan Frank Harrison and Tohn Fay who were arrested at Murray Mur-ray on Wednesday by Deputy Sheriff Hansen on a charge of vagrancy had a hearing yesterday before Justice Sommer which resulted in Nolan and Harrison being sent to the county jail for 15 days and in Pay being discharged dis-charged Short Orders and Notes Eva Theckston was granted a decree I of divorce from Robert Theckston by Judge Johnson yesterday on the I grounds of desertion and failure to support i sup-port Mrs Theckston was granted the I custody of the children and 20 per I month alimony I D H Harrington was the attorney for the plaintiff George G Ewing is suing Sarah J Ayer et al to recover 1000 and interest on a promissory note secured by a mortgage The Hecla Gold Mining company has entered suit to recover from M T Gis born 432 alleged to be for water and 1004 for lumber sold and delivered W S McCorhiek Co have entered suit against J W Maxfield to recover 22620 on a promissory note Christian Stryker vs Paul Bliven judgment for the plaintiff for 11250 Aaron Keyser vs Jackson Bolton et al judgment and decree of foreclosure F for the plaintiff r 7 The Provident Life and Trust company com-pany of Philadelphia has entered suit In the United States district court against William H Folsom ct al to recover re-cover 3500 on a promissory note and for foreclosure of the mortgage securing secur-ing the same Bennett Harkness Howat Bradley Brad-ley aife the solicitors for the plaintiff |
