will make that property a shipper in the near future It is of the same character I as that which yielded Jesse Knight 100000 in three months from the Humbug HUm-bug which property the Mountain View adjoins Mr Sullivan began sinkIng sink-Ing a shaft on his property about ten days ago a short distance from the Humbug dump and made this strike within four feet of the surface No assays as-says have yet been made but there is no doubt that it is pay ore Big Tim as he is familiarly known is an oldtimer in Tintic and the entire camp rejoices with him over his good fortune He is Interested in other properties prop-erties on Godiva hill which is rapidly coming to the front as a producer of rich ore bodies The Golden Star Dan Kelleher and Henry Ogren of Gold Mountain district are in the city from the Golden Star in which important import-ant developments are now in progress under the supervision of Captain Tim I othv Eiran I Messrs Kelleher and Ogren state that the supplies for the winter have been stored at the mine and that the property is looking welt the body of gold quartz In the face of the drift in the lower tunnel holding out well From this drift the boys brought in samples of ore which show values ranging from 60 to SO in gold to the ton besides 26 ounces in silver Mr Kelleher will soon leave for Frisco for the purpose of doing the assessment as-sessment work on claims in which he is Interested while Mr Ogren will soon go back to Gold Mountain and resume work in the Golden Star Shipments of Cyanides At the Salt Lake office of the Con K C Smelting Refining company yesterday yes-terday three consigrments of cyanides were received the Highland Boy of Bingham being in with ten boxes representing rep-resenting the run for the month of November while the Mercur company was on hand with its semimonthly cleanup of four boxes and the Gey serMarion showing up with two big boxes containing the regular two weeks cleanup The regular shipment of Sacramento cyanides are expected in today Utah Lime and Cement The Utah Lime Cement company of this city yesterday paid a dividend of 15 cents a share or Ji50 This is the first dividend that the company has paid for several years although at one time it made a regular monthly distribution of wealth to its stockholders A few years ago when the old mining exchange was doing business Utah Lime Cement was one of the most active and popular stocks on the board Will Work the Copper King Logan Dec GW H Jackson of Ogden reached Logan this morning He left this afternoon for the Copper I King mining claim situated on Saddle creek where he expects to remain I with one or more men all winter I Captain W D Silvey of the Ogden police force one of the owners of the Copper King is l at present at the mine He will take the Conklin sampling works yesterday A carload of ore from the Midland < at Bingham on which B H Cable has a lease was on the market yesterday Th3 quotation on silver yesterday touched CO cents which is the highest point touched by this metal for six months or more A D Ferron M E has returned from I State Line district where he made a patent survey of the Gold Haven lode adjoining the Creole Mr Ferron is well I pleased with the district and is of the opinion that it will open out Into a productive pro-ductive and paying gold camp Gill S Peyton of the Chloride Point has returned from Lion hill where he made an Inspection of this promising I property and he states that it is opening out in excellent shape with mammoth bodies of ore in sight The company will make two carloads of high grade ore this I week F M Taylor of the Taylor Si Brunton sampling works is In the city from I Aspen Colo Mr Taylor states that only about 10 per cent of the newspaper reports re-ports relative to the recent fire In the Smuggler mine were true and he thinks it is ridiculous the way the eastern papers pa-pers have handled the occurrence as in one of them the statement was milde that 60 miles of the underground workings of the mine were on fire Jesse Knight of the Humbug mine at Eureka was in yesterday with two carloads car-loads of ore from the property which I was sold on assays showing values fof 5 per cent lead US ounces silver and 250 in gold to the ton The Humbug greatly belies Its name as it is considered as one of the bonanza propositions of the camp I while the Uncle Sam adjoining before the men will he rushing out ore from the lower workings of the property through the Woodruff tunnel He also says that a considerable quantity of fine milling gold ore is being taken out of the Kelly ore pipe while at the mill an excellent ex-cellent extraction Is being made nearly every particle of the gold values being recovered Joe Obendorfr and E A Vail of the Searchlight who made a visit to the property prop-erty the first of the week report that the indications are yery favorable for the opening UI of a body of pay ore In the near future The shaft in the Searchlight Search-light is now down to a depth of 561 feet the bottom being In what is believed to bs the footwall of the vein and now drifts are being run north and south in order to find where the pay streak is During their stay in Sunshine Messrs Obendorfer and Vail made an inspection of the Sunshine mine the Overland and the Red Cloud and they express themselves I them-selves as being well pleased with the appearance ap-pearance and conditions in these properties prop-erties On Sunday The Herald made mention of the fact that in the mill tunnel at the GeyserMarlon the face of the workings was in the blocky lime that generally overlies the lower vein In that section and yesterday It was reported on the streets that the ore zone had been encountered en-countered and thrTt a fine body of mineral has been exposed In this portion of the property While there has been a scare over GeyserMarion parties who are thoroughly posted as to the true condition condi-tion of the mine are quietly corralling all
