Show ALL IS HARMONY Statement Given Out 1 > y the Hoard of Directors of the Catholic Unl crxlty of America WASHINGTON Oct 22The third and final session of the board of directors of the Catholic University of America this morning was very brief and the only business transacted was that of chang ing the annual meeting from Wednesday after Easter which practice has been found generally Inconvenient to the second sec-ond Wednesday in October to coincide with the annual meeting of archbishops The board also Issued the following statement state-ment before adjourning The board wishes It to be understood by the public that there are absolutely no factions or sectional differences among the members The election of the csndi daTes for the rectorship was practically unanimous To speak of the triumph of this or that party a conservatism or liberalism nationalism or Americanism Is to misrepresent the whole situation All the members of the board are equally American In spirit They have but one thought and that is the welfare of the university and its steady progress to the higvaeot Catholic education Alter adjournment of the board of directors di-rectors archbishops held their annual meeting The morning session was devoted de-voted to administrative matters of no general gen-eral Interest At the evening session Father Stephen who has charge of the Indian schools appeared before the archbishops and gave a detailed statement of the condition gve of those schools After some discussion the whole Indian school question wa referred re-ferred to a committee consisting of Cardinal Car-dinal Gibbons Archbishops Corrigan Keane and Ryan Tills committee will meat at the residence of Cardinal Gib tomorrow boas In Baltimore beginning Its sessions The parochial school question did not come up In any form |
