prehistoric ages this earth was a solid rock and that whenever the Bible refers to The Rock of Ages it no doubt means the bed rock about to be laid bare by the muscular exertions of the owners of the Foleando diggins < Malad Enterprise Enter-prise Why cannot we have a local mall service between Salt Lake and Eureka via the Rio Grande Western No 9 It leaves Bait Lake at 5 p m for Eureka late enough to get all editions of the evening papers The train then returns leaving Eureka at 7 a m thus giving us an early and late mall through the most populous section of the country If this were established we could mail a letter from any of the cities covered by this service and get a reply the same day and better still the service is so much surer than are the through mails In conforming with the present mall system a letter mailed at Springville for Eureka is first taken to Salt Lake and on the following day sent to Eureka thus a day at least is lost This also applies to nearly all Utah county cities Springville Independent Inde-pendent Sam Thurman was generally recognized recog-nized as leader of the Democrats in the convention He is cautious and deliberate de-liberate in getting expected to reach Coal yule today the object of their visit be ing to look over the work being done In Grass creek and the copipanys property pro-perty in that locality This looks like business and in all likelihood means the employment of a large number of men and the development i develop-ment of new properties all of which means better times for this locality The writer is also informed that the Union Pacific company intend to open up and develop their coal properties in Grass creek this season and have already had men looking over their property there with this end In view Coalville Times Assistant Superintendent Garrett OXeiH while in Coalville this week visited the mines and a pretty straight rumor has it that the Union Pacific tracks will be extended from the Wasatch mine to the Wilson Brothers mine and that one of the objects ot Mr ONeills visit was to look over this ground for that purpose It is the hope and wish of all that this will prove to be true and that the track will be laid at once for it means an increased force of men for the Wilson mine and a direct benefit to the enterprising enter-prising owners of the mine and to Coalville Coalville Times |
