| Show = S THE TRILBY ENTERTAINMENT A Large Audience at Unity Hall Last Evening The Unitarian ladles provided a feast for the public in their Evening With Trilby and a large number enjoyed it No matter what the Individual opinion of Du Mauriers much discussed worK may be it is certain that those who participated par-ticipated in the programme at Unity hall last evening made the moet of It and the author had he been present could not but have been pleased with the tributes trib-utes to and the analytical consideration of his work Dr Utters revfew or the work was exhaustive ex-haustive and sparkling with bon mot Mr Hunters character sketch of Trilby Tril-by was a half scientific half poetic and wholly entertaining treatment of the subject sub-ject Mrs w C Jennings reading of the description of De Svengalls debate in Paris and London was attractive Mr Green sang Nussbaum Schumann Schu-mann airs Silva the Spring Sons Gounod Mr Nat M Brigham Ben Bolt and on being encored The Linden Lin-den Tree and Miss Rosalie Morris played an Impromptu by Chopin all the musical numbers except air Brig hams encore being selections with which I the hypnotized diva delighted great audiences audi-ences and which were In every instance I finely rendered by each performer last evening I Mrs Silva who numbers dramatic reading read-ing among her many accomplishments closed the programme with the touching portrayal of the heroines last hours and the poem with which the novel ends A little work a little play To keep us going and so goodday itA little warmth a little Hght Of loves stMvingand BO good night A little fun to match the sorrow Of each day s growIngand so good marrow mar-row uA little trust that when wo die We u6a bye y out sowing And so good |
