Show I I NEWS FROM OVER THE STATE l CASING OF SCHOOLS Entertaining Exercises Held Yesterday Yester-day at Kaysville Special Correspondence Kaysville May 12The town has a holiday day aspect today owing to the schools of the Eighth district holding their closing exercises The music hal was filled with perents of the school children when the programme commenced this morning and those who were present were universally well pleased with the excellent showing I made by the pupils Seven schools were represented on the programme which consisted of songs choruses drills of various song rious kinds May dances recitations etc The exercises were arranged and conducted I conduct-ed by Principal H B Arnold assisted by the following teachers Miss Rub t I Ivnowlton Miss Leah Allen Miss LIlllo Clow Miss Edith Hunter Francis I Mor tersen and James H Cook The Layton schools that are comprised in the Eighth district held interesting closing exercises In the Union hal at Layton this morning The schools that have been taught by A B Cook Miss Martha E Barnes Edwin Dibble and George Dibble participated Miss Barnes school gave a Red White and Blue drill and a march song was rendered by Mr Dibbles school The remainder of the programme consisted of songs dialogues and recitations that gave evidence of careful preparation During the afternoon dances were given for the children and the friends in the Union hal at Layton and in the Kays vIe Music hall hal I Superintendent X T Porter attended the exercises and delivered an address |
