Show I SENATOR PENBOSE ON BOARD Many of the Injured Taken to Philadelphia Phila-delphia Philadelphia May 12The Pottsville express which was run into at Exeter arrived here after midnight with a few of the injured They were George W Kucker common council man of the Twentieth ward this city injured about the legs Francis T Steinbeck Camden N J cut about the head C A Beaver Philadelphia arm bruised and head cut B Barney Philadelphia leg arm and hip badly bruised The passengers could give no connected con-nected story of the wreck and the number num-ber of dead and Injured was not known by any of them The railroad sin s-in this city can give no details of the accident They say they are not sure of the number of casualties Senator Penrose was a passenger on the Pullman car of the wrecked train The rear end of the car was crushed and the senator badly shaken up Senator Penrose did not know how many of the passengers of the rear cars I were killed or injured but said when the train left the scene those needing I attention were being cared for by physicians phy-sicians and residents of the neighborhood neighbor-hood He said that he learned that several were killed and many badly injured in-jured but as to the number he could not say A few of thosewhose injuries were slight came on tie train to Philadelphia I Philadel-phia but the train left soon after the accident and the more seriously injured were left at the scene and sent to Reading Read-ing New York Central Wreck Utica N Y May 12At 235 oclock this morning New York Central train No3 the Southwestern limited while in the yard in this city was run into by PanAmerican express No 31 resulting re-sulting in the destruction of a Wagner car an express car and the engine of the latter train The wreck caught fire but was extinguished by the local department de-partment Harry Neal of Buffalo partrent Bufalo assistant as-sistant superintendent of the Wagner company Wi so badly hurt that he may die He is at a hospital No one else was hurt o ti i 1 |
