which displayed exceptional activity ac-tivity upon the break noted yesterday The stock was conspicuous early for a jump of per cent to 120 despite news of further weakness in the foreign for-eign and domestic grades of the product pro-duct The movement however was largely if not entirely due to the cov ering of shorts and as soon as this demand was satisfied the stock began to sag and eventually on free offerings offer-ings by the traders who believed they detected inside selling the price receded re-ceded 414 to 115 The closing figure was practically at the lowest The general trading at the outset displayed strength under the influence of higher London prices for Americans foreign purchases and also to be a more cheer ceer ful sentiment regarding our relations I toward Europe The international shares gained smart fractions As in I the case of Sugar however the shorts were chiefly responsible for the improvements and dullness and dulness I downward trend of prices soon
