Show THE CRY OF THE PEOPM3 For fifteen years the people of these United States have been crying for relief from the burdens that have bent them to the earth for fifteen years they have beeen hoping and praying for the restoration of silver as a money metal to Its proper place in our monetary mone-tary system for fifteen years they have been waiting > and watching for the dawn of that day when > it should be cried aloud from the house tops There is free silver in the tend1 l For c i > I fifteen weary dreary and distressing II years every hope has beenmet with a disappointment every prayer with a I false promise for fifteen years the wealth of the wealthy has increased and the povert of the poor has increased in-creased until despair has taken the place of hope in the hearts of the people peo-ple So great has become the desperation despera-tion of the people that they feel they must have relief else they perish The relief they have so long sought is not far distant This year the one great question in whi h all the people are interestedthe financial questIonwIll be the paramount issue There must be there will be no makeshifts in the declarations of the two great political parties The Republicans have declared de-clared for the gold standard and against free silver The Democrats will declare for free silver And when the issue is thus made the people will have it in their own power to say i what our monetary system shall be If they act wisely they can throw off the yokes that have been upon their necks break asunder the shackles that have been upon their limbs The relief they have so long sought will be offered them by the Chicago convention conven-tion That they will accept it none can doubt |
