Show H GENERAL GRANT MINK A Cross Vein That Is Lousy with the Precious ttutnlJ The General Grant mine In Markham gulch BIngham is just now attracting considerable attention in mining circles on account of the rich strike just made in this property A T Lawrence and A T Solomon the owners of the General Grant have been engaged some time in running a tunnel on a well defined ledge but were somewhat some-what dicourased over the fact that the I ore was low in grade At a distance of g8e g I ni 218 feet however this tunnel cut a four foot crossvein in which there were fourteen four-teen Inches of ore that assays 1 per cent lead 1100 ounces in silver and 51760 in gold to the ton I This last week I discovery was made II Friday and now the owners have about thirty tons of this rich stuff on the dump I i I ready for shipment and Mr Lawrence will go out tomorrow for the purpose of i 1 sending i to market I I The balance of the vein Is also fair grade ge shipping ore and from all indications this prQperty can now be placed on the list I I of regular producers The ore from the new strike is very I similar in appearance to that taken from Dan Clay Julia Dean claim which to I the miner looks good enough to eat I |
