Show THE COLUMBIA SHOWING t Bottom of the Winza Breaking Into Pine Bodies of Bromides There is every indication that in the course of the present year the Chloride Point will be able to make a fine a showing of milling and highgrade ore exposed in its workings as any of the mines on Lion Hill can boast of as recent development and disclosures in this promising property are of a most important nature being nothing less than the uncovering of a big body of chloride and bromide ore in the bottom of the 40foot winze being sunk from the drift which ha been run in on the Mammoth ledge on this ground discovered discov-ered late last fall the bottom of the winze being full in a deposit of mineral min-eral which carries average values of avcrate from 30 to 40 ounces in silver andfrom 2 to 3 in gold to the ton James Kelly superintendent of the Columbia who ha been in the ity during the past few days on minin J business is most enthusiastic over the outlook for the mine and is satisfied that it will not be long before regular ore shipments will be made from this new 9P niIg and he says that when the winze has reached the Tofoot level i is the intention to crosscut the ledge in order to determine its extent and value the expectation being that a large body of pay mineral will be uncovered un-covered the indications leading to the belief that the zone will be an extension of the magnificent deposits already jblbclced out In the Chloride Point mine l adjoining Upon Ulr Kellys return three shifts will be employed in the deepening pt the winze while three more shifts will resume operations in the Columbus shaft from the bottom of which a drift is being run to cut the ledge already exposed by thecfrift and winze above described |
