place unfit for a camp as the tops were 10 dense that it caused much sickness told us of the hours of drill and the exercise of the horses in which they taught them many tricks and became much attached to them referred to the great amount of guard duty they had to perform also of the dress inspection on Sunday The people I peo-ple of San Francisco were very kind in bringing them all manner highest mark in the history his-tory of the institution Rev Herman Hoffman pastor of the German Lutheran church acted as chaplain chap-lain at the university last week On Thursday he visited the normal and training schools Numerous school trustees from the schools of Salt Lake county are visiting the training school and the kindergarten and manual training departments of the normal school All have started out with the laudible effort to bring about a closer relationship between parents and teachers They Inaugurated I their campaign last evening with a choice programme at cue Central school at which Principal Bcown and several of the teachers read papers and made addresses ad-dresses All parents were requested to be present by special invitation and the large recitation room was filled The several papers read were prepared with care and aimed to impress parents with the importance of cooperation with the teacher in furthering the intellectual and moral wefare of the children It is intended to make these meetings a feature in the future and a programme of exercises will be arranged for every Friday evening during the balance of the school year The principle papers read at last
