university concerning the excellent ex-cellent work being done there by Mr Fred W Reynolds Already this year in a course of daily themes a cass in advanced English composition several of his papers have been read before the class and commented upon very favorably favor-ably by the professor in charge The petition of the college men asking ask-ing for hours of credit for work on oratory tory and debate to be done in the Delta 1hi society was not granted The rea sons for refusal seem to be these The work outlined by the college men is already al-ready covered by courses being given in the university the system of supervision supervis-ion would have required too much time at the hands of faculty members and no defihlte standard for the excellence of work done could be arrived at Notwithstanding Not-withstanding refusal of the faculty to grant the petition however the college col-lege men will meet Monday organize permanently and prepare to carry out the plans of study they
