Show RICHARD CHOKERS POSITION He Merely Wants to Be Relieved from Routine Work New York May Concerning the report re-port that he intended resigning the leadership lead-ership of Tammany Richard Croker said today I have no intention of resigning the leadership of Tammany Hall or of shirking shirk-ing anyof the responsibilities of leadership leader-ship but I am going to ask the executive execu-tive committee to relieve me of the routine rou-tine work of the position tne I have devoted thirty years of my life to the work of organization and I feel the need of a rest My physicians advised ad-vised that I must get out of door more I I shall ask the executive committee to appoint one or more subcommittee LO relieve me of routine work I am not trying to dodge any duty or responsibility ity and shall continue to do all in my power for the success of the organization organiza-tion and for Democratic principles I simply want rest from the labor because be-cause I need it and feel I am entitled to it This does not mean that I have any intention of resigning I shall talk the matter over with the members of the executive committee between be-tween now and the meeting of the committee com-mittee on Thursday and I hope they will agree to name the committee I ask for I |
