Show ITHE COUNCIL I i All members were present at roll call ana after the usual preliminaries a message from tha governor announced that he had approved of C F 4 an act making admissable in evi I i dence certain deeds mortgagesfetc THE HEUDIXG Or STOCK I Mr Lund of the committee on live stock re ported favorably on H F 10 a bill amending section 22J2 and repealing section 2303 of an act relating to the herding of stock Heport ndClptcd I The committ c on enrollment stated tbat C r IV a bill amending 1900 of the compiled laws of Utah of 1S58 had been properly signed and forwarded to the governor for his approval THE COUNCIL RECEDES Mr Collett of a committee on conference on C F 17 amending section 2034 of the compiled laws relating to highways recommended that the Council recede from its former position Afer an explanation from Mr Booth the re port was adopted The bill then passed as i amended by the House I A message from the House stated that that I that body passed C F 5 relating to private in corporations with amendments As tne amend meats were numerous the bill was referred to the committee on private incorporations with out being read > THE BEE INSPECTOR Mr Olsen from the committee on agriculture reported C F 13 creating the office of bee in spector and recommended that it be placed on Its passage Report adopted a ron THE ORGANIZATION OF TOWNS Mr Hatch presented C F 22 a bill to amend n i section 1834 of chapter 12 part 2 volume 1 of the compiled laws entitled For Organization of Towns It was read and referred to the committee on municipal corporations and towns THE STOCK DILL H F 10 amending section 2203 and repealing other sections cf an act of the compiled laws re lating to the herding and branding of cattle was taken up for its second reading Pending the framing of amendments by Mr Richards C F 13 amending section 2200 chap ter 17 part 8 of the compiled laws and creating the office of bee inspector was read the second time passed and ordered filed for third reading A SUBSTITUTE A substitute to H F 10 amending an act of 1888 relating to chattel mortgages was read the third time and passed TO ITS THIttD READING H F 10 as amended was again taken up and read the second time by sections After a few amendments the bill passed and was filed for its third reading On motion C F 10 which had now virtually been absorbed in H F 10 both bills treating of the same subject was postponed till today for further consideration The committee on university agricultural I college reported that it had considered the re port of the trustees of the agricultural college and recommended 200 copies of the trustees report be printed Report adopted and 2K copies ordered printed as recommended by the com mince Council then adjourned |
