RSi Wind Storm In Butte 9 BUTTE Mont May 24Special telegram tele-gram to THE HERALD The side wall of a large twostory brick building standing stand-ing on the main street In the business portion por-tion of the city fell out at 6 oclock this evening crushing flat a small shanty below and burying three men in the ruins The fire department was at once called out and with the assistance of citizens the three men were dug out and foundmuch to the surprise of everybodyto have no injuries beyond severe cuts and bruises The brick I building which is occupied by Harrington ORourke wholesale liquor dealers stands pretty well up the mountain and in an exposed position The wind has been blowing with great violence all day and its i it-s supposed it must have started the wall as no other cause can be given and when that immense mass of brick fell it crushed the small tailor shop below a though i had been an egg shell and covered W Freedmann proprietor and J H Frank and Antoine Fergan his clerks with avertable a-vertable mountain of brick and woodwork Fortunately the timbers in the shop arched over them in such a way as to save their lives It was a most miraculous escape as none of the crowd expected to see a man come out alive Aside from the damage to the the wall loss a few hundred dollars will cover
