Show The Ticket Agents The ticket agents in common with the members of Omaha city council now in tho city attended the organ recital given by Professor Daynes at the tabernacle The visitors showed much appreciation of the numbers rendered and expressed themselves them-selves as thoroughly satisfied with the music in Zion On leaving the tabernacle the party viewed the assembly hall and mado a call on President Woodruff at his private office From here they departed to pay their respects to Brigham Youngs grave This Was followed by an inspection of the Coop Shoe factory and the Z C M L stote1 < After taking in these sightstho delegation scattered to the different hotels I for lunch Many of the visitors went to Garfield in the afternoon to bathe in the great salt sea They arc highly pleased with the way in which they were entertained enter-tained and all predict great things for Salt Lake Many of the ticket agents returned last evening while those going on to Cali fornia expet to depart in the morning I A RESOLUTIONS At a meeting of the agents held at the Metropolitan last evening a committee on resolutions was appointed and they made the following report Mr President We the committee ap pointed to draft resolutions relative ty > our Salt Lake trip beg leave to submit the fol lowing report Whereas an invitation was extended ex-tended the International Association of r Ticket Agents by the chamber of commerce com-merce of Salt Lake city to visit their rafter r-after the adjournment of the association at Dfnver Col but on account of tho shortness short-ness of leave of absence obtained by different differ-ent members the association they were compelled to deny themselves of the pleasure plea-sure of accepting the invitation as a body andWhereas Whereas a party of ticket agents mem I bers of said association accompanied by I Second VicePresident S B Thompson found it convenient to accept the kind invitation I in-vitation extended the association by the chamber of commerce we beg to offer the following Resolved That we hereby express our sincere thanks to the Denver Sc Rio Grande Western railway for courtesies rendered also to tho Union Pacific railroad and Pacific Hotel company for the pleasant trip to GnrJicld Beach and tho rejuvenating bath in the Great Salt Lake the Messrs Grant Bros rompany for the use of the macniScent Riymond Tally Ho and Utah Car giving ns a splendid trip over the city tothe Salt Lake City Street Railway Rail-way company for use of their electric cars to the following hotels for hospitablu entertainments in their excellent hostelries The Walker house Metropolitan Metro-politan hotel Clift house Cullen hotel and Continental teI to the Southern Pacific company and its courteous representative Mr T W Sweet to local railway officials of the Union Pacific Rio Grande Western p and Denver Rio Grande railways to the f chamber of commerce and last but not least to Mr Frank K Gillespie tho energetic V ener-getic and courteous secretary of the cham ber of commerce who was untiring in his t endeavors on our behalf Tie trip to Sal P Lake city will ever bo cherisncd among our most cherishfid recollections Resolved further that the press of Sal Lake be requested to publish these resolu tions and that we hereby thank them for L their excellent reports of our trip Re spectfuily submitted F M BATAX Chairman GnoucE M WILSON t W P PRATT r PRATTCommittee j = The resolution was adopted and meeting adjourned WALKER WEISEL Secretary t S THOMPSON Second Vice President |
