Show Val Verda By MARY LANDEN 292-5985 Art McRae is home recuperating after surgery. Marianne Letz also had minor surgery recently. Football has taken its toll on the Dean Kent family. Ed has a broken ankle and Blair suffered a broken thumb. Jerry Daughtry and Misty Healy have been recuperating from illness. It's good to see Diane Heinhold without her cast after breaking a leg in September. Sep-tember. Mark Malmstrom is also recuperating at home after surgery. Some of our neighbors who have left our area recently include the Anthony Weddick family; . David and Linda ; Wooley and family; Bill and . Marilyn (Slight) Anliker; and the Ron Jackson family. Lynn and Mary Selvin moved just a couple of blocks away and the David Tuckers moved to Albuquerque, Al-buquerque, New Mexico. Professional photographer Doug Smith had an opportunity oppor-tunity to open a studio in Indianapolis, In-dianapolis, and moved there with his family. We also miss Carl and Marlene Card and the John Warnick family. Several wards in the Val Verda area are raising money by selling the new recording of favorite Christmas songs by the Jay Welch Chorale. Those selling the recordings are Mary Landen, 292-5985; Jane Lane, 295-3312, for the Orchard and North Salt Lake Stakes. Both are chorale members. Because of the reorganization reorganiza-tion of the Orchard Stake it was necessary to sustain a new bishopric' in the Orchard Sixth Ward. Mark Francom is the new bishop. He lives with his wife Janice at 3484 South 325 West and.is a manager for Amfac Mortgage Corp. His counselors are Craig Goaslind and Rick Humphries with Melvin Christofferson as executive secretary. The Val Verda Stake was also reorganized last month, which has necessitated a new bishopric in the Tenth Ward, yet to be announced. And also a new counselor in the Seventh Ward who is former executive secretary Dean Kent. Keith Hafen succeeds as executive secretary. Jordan Anderson enjoyed the holiday at home with his parents Edwin and LaVerl from his studies at Dixie College. Milton W. Russon, just released after ten years as Val Verda Stake President, has returned from a well-earned well-earned vacation with Karlyn to the Hawaiian Islands. Other travelers from Val Verda were Mike and Deanna Birdzell and their daughter Gina who spent a week in southern Arizona with Mike's sister. It was renewing old times for the Birdzells since they lived at Fort Huachuca 20 years ago during Mike's time in the Army. They visited visit-ed Old Tombstone, The Saquaro National Monument, Nogales and Old Tucson movie sets as well as seeing how , the, area ., of , Fort Huachuca and Sierra Vista have grown. : . Roy and Pam Tidwell are parents of their fifth child and fourth son after David, Mike, Leon and Karen. The newcomer, new-comer, Jeremy Allen arrived on Nov. 7. Steve and Shellie "Rae Allen are the parents of a new daughter born on Nov. 8. A son was born on Nov. 1 to Paul and Sharon Packer. |
