Show Pel) H(B81 0 El By PAUL WHITE 5 Bountiful High went from 5 being the "Braves of Boun-; Boun-; tiful City" to becoming the j "Chiefs of the West" when they captured the state 3-A I football crown by shutting out jwest High 14-0 in the final game. j THE BRAVES have had j many tough encounters along the war path this year but 5 came out . in the end with a ; season record of U wins and 2 J losses. The two losses were 5 acquired by BHS from the 5 Woods Cross Wildcats and the f West High Panthers during the regular season, but the j Braves never being a team to ; accept defeat, came back to redeem their losses by first ; defeating the Wildcats in a playoff game, for a position in : the state tournament and then the Braves proved themselves : against the Panthers in the big game that counted. : Other teams the Braves ; have defeated along their ! warpath throughout the state I bave been Viewmont Vikings, ; Roy Royals, Clearfield Fal-jXons, Fal-jXons, Davis Darts, Highland Earns, South Cubs, Judge J Bulldogs, Logan Grizzlies, i and the American Fork J Cavemen. 1 THE Bountiful football ! .team has truly shown that the ! i: 1979-80 year at BHS is "Braver Than Ever." The year is only a little more than a quarter of the way through though so all schools should be warned "We've only just begun." Congratulations football foot-ball team and thanks. Next to being state football champs, conserving energy is on everyone's mind this week at BHS. Under the direction of the class officers an energy week has been planned forlhe studentbody at Bountiful with everything from carpools to energy shortage solutions being be-ing formed. As initiative, many prizes will be given away to students who prove to be energy conservation minded. |
