Show Music Students Schedule Concert A benefit concert will be sponsored by the Auditions Committee of the Utah Music ' Teachers Association for the first place winners of the annual an-nual state auditions. ' THE CONCERT will be held at St. Mark's Cathedral, 231 East First South, Saturday, Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. A small donation is requested. Proceeds taken at the door will be presented to the students to help defray their expenses as they participate at the division level of competition held in AI-' buquerque, New Mex., Jan. 19 and 20, 1980. The winners performing will be Karlyn-Bond, junior piano, student of Gladys Gladstone; Doug Dickson, high school piano, student of Robert Smith; Karen Brookens, high school voice, student of Evelyn Harris, Lynette Oliphant, high school strings, student of Olea Kienke; Roland Pitt, collegiate piano, student of Gladys Gladstone. ALSO performing are Martin Mar-tin Wright, collegiate voice, student of Margaret Woodward; Wood-ward; Don Cook, collegiate organ, student of J.J. Keeler; Duane Carling, state organ, student of G. Franklin Ed-dings; Ed-dings; Mike Boswell, composition, com-position, student of G. Franklin Eddings. The above students were selected from a field of 74 entries en-tries from throughout the state and competed at BYU, Nov. 3. The public is invited to attend. |
