Show Band To Compete By KELLIE BARNETT The Woods Cross Marching Band is once again preparing , for their second trip to Edmonton, Edmon-ton, Alberta Canada for the Klondike days celebration from July 14 to the 22. They will be competing against several sev-eral excellent bands from within with-in the states and from other countries. LAST YEAR the Wildcats walked away with first place honors in everything they competed in, with Michael Huff receiving the award for best drum major. The band hopes to be able to do as well again this year with Alan Newbold as their drum major and Steve Richens as the band director. Nancy Richins, Jodi Olson and Melanie Kendall Ken-dall direct the flag corp while Earlene Blaserand Kellie Bar-nett Bar-nett direct the rifles. BEFORE GOING to Canada the band will be doing a com- mercial for Commercial Security Secur-ity Bank. They will also be performing per-forming in the North Salt Lake Parade on June 28 and in the West Bountiful and Centervil-le Centervil-le parade on July 4 in preparation prepara-tion for the parade competition in Canada. There will be five competitions competi-tions in all. WE WISH them the best of luck! |
