' PRESIDING at the dedica- was Ezra Taft Benson, "dent, Quorum of the elve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He told the congregation, congrega-tion, "You've made an investment invest-ment that will not turn sour as many investments do today." He spoke of the beauty that the new addition and remodeling project has brought to the 1 17-year-old building. The original building was begun in 1861 with a captial of $15 scraped together by the entire en-tire group of members. Two The new addition to the historic Rock Chapel in Farmington was dedicated recently. This new part is north of the former building. years later it was dedicated having cost between $15 and $17,000. At that time, the building was dedicated by Wil-ford Wil-ford Woodruff with Brigham Young in attendance. IN 1941, an addition of 15 classrooms, a bishop's office, recreational hall, kitchen and Relief Society Room was dedicated dedi-cated by President David O. McKay. This latest renovation was completed at a cost of $725,000. It includes the renovation re-novation of the Primary Memorial Chapel; the addition of a new chapel; new bishops' offices, additional classrooms and the renovation of other classrooms; an enlarged library lib-rary and a records extraction facility. IT IS NOW used by three wards, First, Third and Fifth wards, whose bishops are Donald M. Sims, Aaron F. Richards and Richard C. Jones. The congregation watched the dedication ceremonies live in the new chapel; on closed-circuit closed-circuit television in the Primary Prim-ary Memorial Chapel; in the Relief Society Room; the cultural cul-tural hall and by audio in the chapel of the Farmington Utah Stake House. |
