Show BOUNTIFUL "Hang up immediately, don't give the caller a chance to talk." "Don't give the caller the (CONTINUED ON PAGE 2) (CONTINUED FROM PAGE 1) opportunity to get his thrills with obscene telephone calls," the chief emphasized. "That's the beauty of a telephone, tele-phone, you don't have to listen : to anyone. Just hang up." - THE CHIEF then urged persons per-sons receiving such calls to report re-port the call immediately to the Bountiful Police Department or local law enforcement agency agen-cy which serves the community commun-ity in which the recipient lives. "It might be a good idea to listen to the caller just long enough to determine the approximate age of the caller, type of voice of the caller, and to identify any phrases used by the caller. The latter could be written downexactly as the caller says it," the chief said. ANYONE WHO is continually con-tinually plagued by obscene or harrassment calls may arrange through the police department to have a tracer placed on the calls. Anyone arrested and found guilty of such calls will be prosecuted, pro-secuted, the chief added, grb |
