Show PIcsGmonls On Community Jelio r:3i8 Clients S0JC4.30 During PGPiotl FARMINGTON -Placements on community jobs for Davis County Development Center clients have netted $8,548.36 in earnings earn-ings for those placed during the four month period ending April 1. THE DAVIS County Development Center, 77 South 200 East, Farmington. was organized in 1975 as a sheltered shel-tered workshop to train handicapped han-dicapped adults in work skills and attitudes. Over lOOclients are presently involved in DC DC training programs. A new laundry skills training train-ing site at Lakeview Hospital has resulted in two placements during March one at Lakeview and one at LDS Hospital. OTHER placements over the past four months include five full or part-time medical housekeeping positions at Davis North Hospital. Lakeview Hospital, Bountiful Convalescent Center and Hillside Hill-side Villa, a Salt Lake City nursing home. Three people obtained jobs in restaurants including the High Hal Cafe in Sunset, BY's Pizza Den in Centerville, and Dee's Family Restaurant in Bountiful. OTHERS obtained clerical work at Bountiful Motors, and Carr's Stationery. Bountiful; bakery work at Albertson's, Lavton; janitor work at the LDS Church Office Building, Salt Lake City; construction work for Ned Smoot, Centerville, Center-ville, and work sanding fiberglass missile cones at Hill Air Force Base. Individual earnings for the four month period ranged from $21.60 to $3,114.16 for 15 clients working from one day to 15 weeks since placement on community jobs. Additionally, Addi-tionally, earnings during this period for people placed last quarter totaled $14,230 bringing bring-ing the total earnings for the four months to $22,778,36 for individuals placed since September. Sep-tember. ANOTHER $1,056 was earned by eight clients working at on-the-job training sites located at Monte Vista School and Farmington Drug. This is an exciting shift to a contributing role for handicapped han-dicapped adults who had been dependent on society. |
