Show PRESIDENT TAPT PAYS HIGH TRIBUTE TO DEAD WASHINGTON. Juno 2S. President Taft learned of tho death of Senator McEnery Mc-Enery with deep regret. The Louisiana senator had the friendship and admiration admira-tion of the chief executive nnd was a frequent visitor at the White house. Mr. Taft dictated tho following telegram on tho train to Mrs. McEncry, filing it at Baltimore: "Am shocked lo hear of the death of Senator MolSnery. who said good-bye to inu at the While house in apparent good health two days ago. The senator was n public servant with the highest sense of duty. He was a patriot in every sense- nnd a man who had endeared himself him-self lo all." BATON ROUGIi. La.. June 2S.
