Show IS. KflBTH REFUSES TO PRflSECUTE CfiSE Woman Who Was Shot by Husband Hus-band Says She Has Left the State. It Is very evident, from a letter received re-ceived by Assistant County Attorney Bowman Tuesday, that Mrs. Eva Karth docs not Intend to appoar against her husband, Mclvln Karth, who recently shot and seriously wounded her and then attempted at-tempted to commit suicide by cutting his throat. In fact, the letter slates positively posi-tively that the woman has left the state and will not testify against her husband. Unless some other evidence Is obtained by the slate, Karth will not be prosecuted for his attempt to murder mur-der his wife. The letter to Mr. Bowman Bow-man follows: "Mr. John P. Bowman, Assistant County Coun-ty Attorney This Is to inform you that I havo decided not to appear against Mr. Mclvln Karth. Also that I am leaving tlio state. Hoping that this Information will release my husband from custody. "MRS. EVA KARTH." Karth Is still In the hospital, where ho was taken a second time since the tragedy trag-edy for an operation, and It Is expected that he will be able to be taken back to the county Jail within the next few days. Some disposition will be made of the case by the time ho Is ablo to leave the hospital. |
