Show Webb-Spafford Wedding Reception Held At L. D. S. Institute Building The St. George L. D. S. Institute building furnished the setting Friday Fri-day evening, May 15th, for the wedding reception given by Mrs. Annie M. Webb honoring Mr. and Mrs. Nelson W. Spafford, who were married at high noon in the St. George Temple, with Pres. Harold S. Snow officiating in the presence of many relatves and friends. Mrs. Spafford is the former Enid Webb, daughter of Mrs. Annie M. Webb of this city. Mr. Spafford is a native of Beaver, and resides in Glendale, Calif. Greeting the guests at the door were the bride's brother and sister, sis-ter, Clarence Webb, and Mrs. Vila Vi-la te Leavitt, and the bride's mother. The bride wore her wedding wed-ding gown of crisp white taffeta with panel trim of imported lace and the finger-length veil of white silk net fell from a coronet of lace and seed pearls and was edged with lace. She was attended by the groom's niece, Mrs. Dean Roberts as matron of honor and Miss Helen Fawcett as maid of honor. Both wore gowns of apricot lace and georgette. The groom's best man was Roy A. Whipple, brother-in-law of the bride, of Las Vegas. Dean Webb, brother of the bride, was usher. The bride's boquet was of white and yellow rose buds. In charge of the gift room was the bride's siister, Mrs. Talmadge Christensen of Glendale, Calif. The table in the serving room had a center piece of yellow roses and shasta daisies, on a cover of heavy white lace. Pouring were the bride's sister, Mrs. Roy Whipple, gowned in old gold stripped lame; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Clarence Webb, who wore an accordian plaited model in white jersey. Serving were the Misses Helen Pectol and Jane Pace and Mrs. Roy Nisson. During the evening a large circle of the bride's associates from the city and Dixie junior college responded with numbers for the music program, including Miss Margaret Jones, Mrs. Mae A. Pace, Miss Helen Pectol, Garth Tietjen, Miss Buelah Barber, Miss Barbara Tweedie, Royden Braith-waite, Braith-waite, Mr. and Mrs. Murray Webb, Mrs. Roy Whipple and Jos. W. McAllister and Miss Jane Pace. Mrs. Spafford has been prominent promin-ent in the vocal department of the Dixie junior college, singing in the college girl's trio, and in operatic roles. Immediately following the reception re-ception the couple left for a short honeymoon to points in northern Utah, and returned Wednesday for the balance of Commencement week. |
