Show 20 ladies compete in golf meet Twenty ladies participated in the annual Buffalo Belle Classic sxmsored by Coors in Grand Junction Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This is one of the highest paid and largest women's tournaments in the area with ladies participating from Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. Keith Fergus and Bobby Clamped, touring pros on the Professional Golf Association circuit, gave a demonstration demon-stration and workshop for the participants par-ticipants of the tournament Gerrie Buckalew drew out to play the front nine with Keith Fergus and tied two other teams with 28 under to lake first place. Meb Wardell and Virginia Garner were members of I be other teams tying for first in the Pro Am. Linda Floyd's Pro Am team won sixth place and Deanne Stringham's Pro-Am team placed seventh. The second and th.rd days of the tournament were exclusively for the women participants. Helen MHton nabbed low gross in the First Flight with a score of 177 Buckalew placed third gross with a score of n. June Dot son nabbed second net and Jean Johnston placed sixth net. In Second Flight Lorriane Higgins won third gross with a score of l')3, and Helen Hood won fifth gross with 2"0. Linda Floyd won km' gross in Third J-'light with score of 1. Each lady won a gift certificate cer-tificate and a bottle of Ronald Reagan Jelly Beans in a cut glass container. Other ladies participating in the three-day tournament were Hetty Hart, Linda Hart. Nina Pease, Verlie Stringham, Vel Sorensen, Judy Roberts, Uila Anderson. D'ide Rolfe, Elaine Gurr and Fern Bakur. |
