Show J Mr. and Mrs. David Bumgamer Alice McChtchy, David Carl Bvmgarner Exchanged Vows in Church Rites Exchanging vows in a double ring ceremony at the First Baptist Church on September 25, 1976 were Miss Alice McClatchy, daughter of Mrs. Joy Ferguson and Mr. Warren "Tex" McClatchy and David Carl Bumgarner, son of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Bumgarner of Xenia, Illinois. The bride was given in marriage by Willis Ferguson. The Rev. Neil Foster officiated officia-ted at the candlelight ceremony cere-mony with an altar setting of garden flowers. Organist for the ceremony was Mrs. Fran Townsend. Mr. Rial Owens of Salt Lake City sang "The Lord's Prayer," "And I Love You So," "If," "Colour My World" and the "Wedding Song." A special poem was read by Rev. Foster to complete the lovely program. The bride's dress was of candlelight polyester organza. The fitted bodice featured a venice lace, encircled wedding ring collar, a ruffled yoke, full bishop sleeves, lace and seed pearls were appliqued at the waist. Her full A-line skirt featured a lace ruffled flounce at the hemline and swept into a chapel length train. She carried a bouquet of peach and yellow roses arranged in a cluster of baby's breath. In keeping with tradition, the bride had something old-her veil, something borrowed-a white bible belonging to her cousin, Mrs. Carolyn Scheid of Germany, and something blue-a garter. Bridal attendants were: Mrs. Becky Wilson, Matron of Honor; Mrs. Chris Shumway, Mrs. Cindy Brewer and Miss Ahna McClatchy. They were all dressed in lovely floor length satin gowns, three in yellow and one in peach. They each carried a miniature copy of the bride's bouquet. Little Angie Tibbitts, dressed in a floor length print, was the flower girl and Shawn Beijan was the ring bearer. John R. Bumgarner, brother of the groom, acted as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Dan L. Gamel, Roger L. Bumgarner, and John Judd. The groom and groomsmen wore tuxedos of brown and ivory in keeping with the color scheme. The mother of the bride selected a rust colored knit gown with empire waist and long ecru lace sleeves. While the mother of the groom wore a light green floral print gown. They both had peach and yellow rose corsages. In the reception hall guests were served by Ginger Hutton, Christy Simons and Laurene Barnett. Carla Alley was in charge of the guest book and Karin Nelson took care of the gifts. The two tier cake made by Darlene Nelson was surrounded surround-ed by four little doll cakes' decorated to look like the bridesmaids. Out of town guests were: Mrs. Winona Perry Smith, Littleton, Colo.; Mrs. Judith Schielke, Boulder, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. David Alley, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Barnett, Mr. and Mrs. Eudean Wessel and family, Mrs. Gladys Tessman, Mr. Mike Tessman, Montrose, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Joel Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Pfrry Carmichael, Grand Junction, Colo.; Miss Mary Ann Turner, Tur-ner, Mr. Dan Gamel, Grants, N.M.; Rev. and Mrs. Neal Foster, Price, Utah; Mr. and Mrs. John R. Bumgarner, Sr., Xenia, III.; Mr. and Mrs. John R. Bumgarner, Jr., Ashland, Mass.; Mr. and Mrs. Roger L. Bumgarner, Castle Rock, Colo.; Co-lo.; Mr. and Mrs. John Judd, Champaign, 111.; Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Nielson, Mr. Mark Spanglet, Salt Lake City, Utah; Mr. Chet Howard, Miss Elaine Velasquez, Albuquerque, N. M. The couple honeymooned in Wyoming, Montana and South Dakota and are now making their home in Grants, N.M., where Dave is employed. |
