Show Former Moab Resident Dies in California Word was received this week of the death of Ora Kitson, a former Moab resident who passed away Jan. 21 in Los Angeles. Born in Castleton, Utah April 24, 1901, Ora was the daughter of pioneer parents, Mathias (Matt) and Loreanna Taylor Martin. She attended high school in Moab and took nursing training in Salida, Colo. Ora returned to Moab in 1918 when she married Walter T. Kit-son Kit-son after his return from overseas military duty in World War I. Mr. Kit-son Kit-son was the son ofThom-as ofThom-as E. Kitson who carried the mail and ran a stage-line stage-line from Cisco to the Castleton area prior to the outbreak of World War I. Ora and Walter lived in Moab for many years before moving to the Los Angeles area in 1939. She was a member of the LDS Church and is survived by nieces and nephews of whom most were reared rear-ed in the Moab area. Brown, Missoula, Mis-soula, Montana; Dalmas Maxfield, Tooele, Utah; Jessie Maxfild Justesen, Chpster. Utah: Erma Maxfield Fowler, Idaho Falls, Idaho; John C. Kit-son, Kit-son, Los Angeles, Ca.; and Louise Underhill Bu-miller, Bu-miller, Redlands, Ca. A service of memory was held for Ora Jan. 24 at the Little Church of the Flowers in Glendale, Ca. Interment took place in the Forest Lawn Memorial Memor-ial Park in Glendale. |
