She was he former Mrcedes Collett. Newlyweds Honored at ception Friday Announcement is made of tne marriage of Miss Mercedes Mer-cedes Collett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Collett of this city, and Lewis ' Bjarnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Bjarnson of Payson, which took place last Wednesday, April 17, in the Salt Lake temple. Complimenting the newlyweds, a reception was given on Friday evening in the Fourth ward chapel chap-el for approximately 300 relatives and friends. The bride was charmingly at- j tired in a white satin wedding dress with net trim and a train of the same material. Her veil was edged with lace and fashioned to her head with a wreath of stocks. She carried a bouquet of red roses, snapdragons and carnations. She was attended by Mrs. Louis Nash of Salt Lake City as matron of honor, and also Miss Norma Thorpe, Miss Darlene Bjarnson and Miss Mary Jean Bjarnson of Payson and Mrs. Melvin Teasdale were bridesmaids. They were attired at-tired in pastel formals with corsages cor-sages in corresponding colors. Russell' Griggs of Salt Lake City( was best man. The reception featured a program, pro-gram, dancing and refreshments. Willis Weight was master of ceremonies cer-emonies and announced the following fol-lowing program numbers: violin selection, Mrs. Jack Cherrington; reading, Mrs. Zora Eves; instrumental instru-mental duet, Misses Joyce and Mildred Bjarnson; dance numbers, Misses Joan and Jean Averett; vocal solo, John Collett, accompanied accompa-nied by Miss Jane Cherrington, who also played piano music while the guests arrived; vocal selections, selec-tions, Geraldine and Lorraine Partridge Par-tridge of Payson. Refreshments were served under un-der direction of Mrs. F. H. Tasker and Mrs. Charles Sundbloom and the gift room was in charge of Mrs. Ernest Piatt of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Beth Fackrell. The entrance and hall were beautifully decorated for the occasion oc-casion with spring bossoms and a lovely floral centerpiece was used on the refreshment table. The couple left on a short trip to canyons in southern Utah. They plan to make their home in California Cali-fornia for the next few months while he attends school. |
