Show Impressive rites heid here for Florence Ekker Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Fourth-Seventh Ward for Florence Harrison Ekker, 62, who died November 30, 1968, following surgery in the Salt Lake LDS Hospital. Bishop John C. Patrick of the Fourth Ward officiated. Burial Bur-ial was in the Evergreen Cemetery Cem-etery here, directed by Wheeler Wheel-er Mortuary. She was born November 17, 1906 in Springville, a daughter of Willie W. and Myrtle Hall Harrison. She was educated in the Springville schools and graduated with honors from Springville High School. She received her normal degree from Brigham Young University Univer-sity in 1927 and taught school in Springville before her marriage mar-riage to John Gerrit Ekker on June 12, 1928. The couple had always made their home on the Ekker ranch west of Eureka, except for winters from 1940 to the present, pres-ent, when they lived in Springville. Spring-ville. She was an active member of the LDS Church and had served in the Sunday School, Primary and Relief Society. She taught in the Relief Society Soci-ety for many years. At the time of her death she was spiritual spir-itual living leader for that organization. or-ganization. She had also been an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers for many years and was currently serving as class leader of Camp Springville Spring-ville of the DUP. She had also served as vice captain. She was a member of the Hafen-Dallin Hafen-Dallin Club. She had taught all of her children at the ranch at various var-ious times, helping provide them with an education. Survivors include her husband, hus-band, Springville; four children, Mrs. Grant (Leta) Bartholomew, Bartholo-mew, Van Nuys, Calif.; J. Gerrit (Gary) Ekker, Ekker Ranch; Mrs. Warren B. (Louise) (Lou-ise) Shouten, Ogden; James H. (Jim) Ekker, Ekker Ranch; a brother, W. C. Harrison of Springville, and six grandchildren. I i " i' I ' i I U !
