Show SEVERAL LOCAL LADIES WERE IN SALT LAKE City Saturday evening to attend the annual formal banquet of the state Delphian Assembly held at the Lion House. Mrs. M. R. Straw of this city, president of the state organization, was in charge of the meeting and introduced Dr. Sidney W. Angleman of the University of Utah English department as the principal guest speaker. Dr. Angleman spoke on the general gen-eral theme of the Delphian, namely, name-ly, "Thinking In A Changing World." A highlight of the evening's program pro-gram was the presentation of the presidents' badge of merit, made by Mrs. Straw to the retiring president. Attending from Springville were the following Delphian members: Mrs. J. W. Grant, president of the Springville Mt. Maple chapter, Mrs. Earl Condie, Mrs. Catherine D. Wills, Mrs. E. V. Martin, Mrs. C. G. Salisbury, Mrs. Mary Smart, Mrs. W. R. Eddington, Mrs. M. R. Straw, and her daughter, Mrs. Marjorie S. Miller, who attended as a special guest. |
