Show Alpha Beta Club gets shopping hints Members of the Alpha Beta Club spent an enjoyable and profitable afternoon at the home of Mrs. Earl Goates Friday. Fri-day. President Mrs. Sheldon Nielson welcomed the members mem-bers and program guests. She expressed regret that a new member, Mrs. Rhoda G. Hales, was unable to be in attendance. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mrs. Thomas Smith. A thought "To Be a Friend," was given by Mrs. Harmon Hatch. Guest speaker was Jack Allen, Al-len, manager of Allen's Super Save Market. He was introduced intro-duced by Mrs. C. W. Harrison. Using a chart on how to shop and save, Mr. Allen pointed out the value of being interested in one's own community and the importance of shopping at home in order to benefit from the percent of tax money returned re-turned from home buying to the city. He pointed out the importance of shopping wisely and adhearing to buying of basic products for good living and the essential need of wise, planned shopping is compared to impulsive buying. He said planning is the requisite to better bet-ter buying. Buying produce in season is more economical. Attitude At-titude is the key to good shopping. shop-ping.
